Polk RTi A Home Theater Reviews
Hey Polk fans!
I love reading literature about hardware I want to purchase or hardware that I already own. So, if you are like me. This post is for you. I have linked all the RTi A Home Theater reviews I could find by what some would call reputable magazines or internet sources.
Just recently, Home Theater and High Fidelity just reviewed this Dec. The Polk RTi A System setup is with RTi A9s fronts, CSi A6, and RTi A3 and a DSW600. This is one of my favorite reviews because it is amost the same as my setup.

Another good read is from Home Theater Magazine.

The last two reviews are on the smaller bookshelf type speakers for a Home Theater setup using RTi A3s or RTi A1s main speakers.

It seems that the Polk RTi A line up is well received. Hope this post is informative for someone.

Hi
I have a question about surround speakers selection for 5.1 HT setup
i recently purchased 2 RTI A9, 1 CSI A6, 1 velodyne ex-max 12" 450 watt sub, 2 FXI A6 and 2 RTI A7.
originally i bought 2 rtia7 for fronts but online reviews made me push towards rtia9's...so i went for it (all of them are still unpacked and sitting in their boxes)
now i am looking at your signature and wondering if should use rtia7 for surround or return fxi's
will appreciate if you could provide me your suggestion towards selecting right surround speakers...
note: i a, also in the process of getting EMO XPA-3 or 5 pre-amp since my pioneer vsx-53 only throws 110watts per channel..rtia9's are big big power consumers..
Many Thanks -
I would keep the fxi's as the surrounds. But then again, some members on here use towers for their surrounds and are happy with them.Living Room Monitor 60's*CS2*FXi A6's*VSX 21txh*BD-P1590

Thanks for posting the reviews. It's always nice reading positive remarks on your speakers from non Polk affiliated people. Well, we all have our own tastes when it comes to audio.
The science of choosing whether to keep RTi A7s towers as rears or FXi A6s comes down to this. Bi-pole speakers are better at creating a more immersive surround sound effect do to the fact that sound is coming from more than one angle or surface. Therefore, the FXi A6 will not draw too much attention to its self and should mimic the sound you hear in your neighborhood theater. This is assumed if you’re placing them in the proper position above your head at the proper angles for your viewing room.
Nonetheless, I decided to run with RTi A7 rears for a few reasons.
1, my home theater is more focused on music than movie experience. Direct radiating speakers are most often better at music. Advantage RTi A7.
2, power handling, I listen to my movies and music at near reference and at reference often. Advantage RTi A7.
3, Many people don’t realize or have the same understanding that many of todays Blu-ray based movies have sound below 80Hz in the rear surrounds and the RTi A7 is a 3-way speaker that has two 7 inch woofers that are ready to be called upon during those moments. Advantage RTi A7.
4, No speaker stands or speaker mounting necessary. Some people spend the same money as a tower speaker pair once they fine nice speaker stands to go with small speakers. Advantage RTi A7.
5, Did I mention that they look even better in my room with the RTi A9 up front with the CSi A6. I have never had nothing but good comments on the look of my system.
I love it and will have the next system I build set up similar.
Pictures are in this thread.

Also, I had a Pioneer Elite VSX-23 which had the same power as your 53. I knew I need more power and I didn't stop till I got some. And you will be happy that you bought the amp to go with everything.Fronts: Polk RTi A9

SRTer, Thanks for explaining it very clearly. I truly appreciated it.
I would like to post one more question to everyone on this forum...
Since i listen to music and watch movies 50/50..i am leaning more towards RTI A7 for surrounds speakers
question: Can i place RTIA7 towers behind sitting area (couch) approx 10ft away and 10ft apart? instead of placing them on sides of couch which is approx 3 feet.
anything to be concerned ?
my room dimensions are 15ft X 27ft
will be great to hear feedback!
many thanks guys
