RT10's
Anyone ever upgrade their RT10's?
I had Ben mod my crossovers about a 15 months ago with Gen 1 caps and Mills resistors.
I then installed the vinyl based sound deadening adhesive lined sound deadening panels in the top part only of the 10's (found some drawings on the inside of the cabinets from the factory which I thought was pretty cool).
I spiked them all around also!
Heres the kicker, I installed 6001 Trilaminate tweets from day one after installing the crossovers!
I did my research and there was only 1 db efficiency difference between the Tri's and stock.
I have been using them all this time with no ill effects and nothing but pure joy at this point!
Anyone else ever done this?
Trilams vs. the 5K series tweeters?
If not, I will say, you don't know what your missing!
Only reason I mention it is I am going to go back into them and do a wire/5 way binding post upgrade.
These are KEEPERS for sure, can't wait to hear the rest of the story!

I think tri-lams vs silk domes is a matter of taste and what you're driving them with. I purchased the RT12 over the RT16 partly due to the difference in tweeter. Back when I made the purchase, I was driving them directly from the CD player's variable outputs into my amp, so no preamp and no tone controls. Had to tune everything strictly with the selection of gear. Point is, I would not always consider the tri-lam to be an upgrade over the silk dome. Just a matter of preference.
