One previous post in the 2-channel sub-forum. This is my second and it is about an upgrade. About 6 weeks ago I moved some rear surrounds down from my 7.1 set up upstairs which included a pair of Rtia3s to create a starter 2 channel system and was a bit disappointed with their performance. They lacked the detail and smoothness I had become used to from my LSi25s. Honestly I couldnt really sit and enjoy music with them playing as I was concentrating on the poor sound. Since then I been searching for book shelf substitutions.
Interested in staying with Polk, I was interested in LSi9's on ebay but the poster wouldnt budge from 799$/pair BUY IT NOW option, I 'best offered' him 649$ and he wouldnt take it. Being in Canada I cant seem to score a good deal on LSi7/9s. I had my eye on some LSi7s on the 'bay by another seller but but customs and shipping across the border made them less appealing and a quick search of LSiMs anywhere this side of the border was futile. So I started looking at B&W and Paradigm. An older pair of Paradigm S1s and current Paradigm Studio 10s came up on Canuck Audio Mart but werent much of a deal and I didnt like that they were smaller monitors rather than larger book shelves I prefer. Then just 1 hour ago a pair of the Studio 20's were listed for $725 and I quickly scored them!! Check out the ad and the "sold to Mr.T" (toth) in the title ... LOL. I feel like I got a steal :loneranger: as my local dealer would have given me 13% off to save me taxes but I would still ended up paying $1298-1398 Canadian/pair as Canadian prices are higher than US prices it seems by a bit.

I was very pleased in reading in another thread about the showdown between the LSimM 703s, Paradigm Studio 10s and another pair of book shelves that the Studio 10s faired well against the LSiMs so I suspect the bigger brother, Studio 20s, would also put out that caliber of sound which would be a very welcome addition to my 2 channel.
I will take pictures and my impressions once I receive them. Mr. B of High End Audio Exchange stated he would ship them out tomorrow.

Nice!!
I owned the version 3 of that studio 20 line.
Those were a set of speakers I really liked alot but had to sell since I was soooo covered in speakers it wasn't fun anymore. The bass was fantastic and the highs detailed and sweet.
I can't speak for the sound of the newer versions but I hope you like them just as much. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
