my other polk speakers. i think they have the peerless tweeters in them as they have a small pinhole in tweeter as described by the folks in here.

It appears as if you have a slight gash in the surround of your 6 1/2 driver at 12 o clock in the pic above. Nice job on the dynamat, it's in my future upgrade of 7's list as well.

Speaker **** ! That's alot of speakers!

Aahhh, dynamat, brings back memories (of 2-4 months ago!) On your passive radiator I sugggest dynamatting the top of the frame too, the flat part around the hole.

Good news. But if you do see a gash in the future, some thin tissue paper and rubber cement can do wonders there.

Dynamat, rings, crossovers? Unless my speakers can do that for "themselves" it's never going to happen. Not big on the DIY stuff. Strictly a plug and play guy.

But more power to those who can and do!

Always liked the sound of the Kappas!

Well I have to give a huge thank you to gimpod for the pcb boards that arrived quickly and had them soldered up and inspected in 7 hours. I staked all components and conformal coated the boards. Made my life pretty easy having them come so quickly. I ran out of silver solder but got lucky a buddy had a spool down the road. I used ERSA Microbond OFMKANC32 and inspected all joints with 10X scope. I went nasa spec on this board and the joints show. I was pretty amazed at the workmanship and solder joints on the original boards. Looked like an employee had gone mad with a welder! Even the wires had solder flowed a half inch into the insulation. Much better feeling knowing its all done! picked up a nice sota turntable yesterday so I can break in the new crossovers and the new turntable at the same time!
