RT16 Vs. RT150
Hi guys,
I just went down to my local CC and they have a pair of RT150's they are willing to part with for $500.00. I am currently using the RT16's I have had since 1997 and they still sound great. I was wondering your opinions on whether I should upgrade to the RT150's at this price? Do you think they will sound better? I listen to all types of music and movies. If it is just extra bass with the 150's, it is not nesseccesary because I live in a condo and the 16's put out enough bass for me. Perhaps the tweeter in the 150 is smoother than the trilaminate in the RT16? Please let me know your opinions. Thanks and best regards.

Hey...the tweeter in your RT16 are the same tweeter in my
SRT's. Do you think RT150's tweeter better than the one in your RT16's?
SL6501's now price at Polk for $95.00 each price like gold.

The RT150 might have the extra bass than the RT16's, so all you need to get is the SVS sub.;) if you want more bass...

I say keep the Rt16's. I have 3 pair, and the ONLY reason that i would get rid of any is if I have absolutel no way to use them and they're just gonna sit around (which is what 2 pair currently are doing, until I get a house and set it up right).......comment comment comment comment. bitchy.

Brettw22,
I recall you had an interest in what I paid for my pair of 16s...I finally got them in...roughly 315 shipped to me. I bought a group of speakers to get them so it kinda depends what the others bring to give a final cost...but thats my estimate.
To the question of the thread....I think it depends on whether or not you like the trilam or the silk better. I personally didnt like the 150s at all when tested at CC...However Im sure alot had to due with poor listening environment...very poor onk power...and very unknowledgeable sales person. Every post Ive read from 150 fans states they need loads of power to sound good...so you may be looking at changing more than just the speaks...plus you wont timbre match the rest of your system. Good luck!Mains: RT20Ps
