 Need to vent tried to order the Outlaw LFM-1 Plus @ $550 free shipping. But I had to cancel because my stupid bank wont let me put a seperate shipping address on my account, which outlaw requires if shipping to a seperate address than the billing. It looks like now I will be ordering the HSU Vtf-MK4 at a steeper price than I could have gotten it a few days ago....

ahhhhhh:sad:

That stinks, I love my LFM. I would call the guys at HSU and explain your situation, I've taked to them before and they are great. They may be able to offer some help to you, never hurts to call. Good luck!

Eh, it's hard to say. I don't know if it has any built-in protection like eBay does. That said, I used it to purchase my Outlaw 990 without a hiccup, and the seller of that Outlaw sub has nothing but positive feedback. If it were me, I would be comfortable with it. But that's about all I can say.

The seller is an audio dealer and they have good feedback. Use a CC thru paypal and your covered. If paypal wouldn't honor a claim than your CC should. Only thing about audiogon is just people with low or no feedback like maybe one transaction or 0 total. Those you have to be careful on.

That's rough man. Well that just means they lose a sale. If it were me, I would have called them back and advised them of what I did purchase and the better customer service I got as the company I did purchase from were able to meet and exceed my expectations and made me a customer of theirs. Again... if it were me.

    Enjoy the HSU.

Honestly, it's hard to be mad at them for the policy and sticking to it...

In terms of C.C. fraud, it's the business that gets screwed in the end. I'm sure they would rather loose a few sales than have to eat shipping free product out to scum that steal C.C. info.

I've been on the loosing end of that stick and it's not fun knowing that the C.C. company is taking that money back from you and you now have YOUR product in the hands of a thief and there is jack you can do.

BTW, I'm not saying that Tommy is a scumbag thief. Just saying that the policy is there to help prevent C.C. fraud, and sometimes it can block making a legit sale.

It sucks, but blame the thief that ruins it for everybody, not the business for protecting itself.

I know its there for my protection and wish more companies were proactive in being secure, However another form of payment or verification should be available. They lost out and I had to pay more at another company because first my bank would not let me add a second address to my account and Outlaw only had one method of security verification. Plus my bank covers me on fraudulent charges as do most CC companies.

They give you that protection, by taking the money back from the merchant...

The banks and C.C. companies rarely loose out.

The reason a lot of retailers do everything they can to ensure a card is being used legally.

Why would the bank not let you add/change an address? As long as you can verify you are who you say you are, they should have given you zero trouble.

Not sure, I need to change banks I have had nothing but trouble from these SOB's. They have even canceled random checks on me. The mouth piece I talked to went and talked to his supivisor and he just came back and said No, I even asked if they could just put a side note in so if some one called to verify if the customer was okay with the adrress and it was still No. I'm not mad at Outlaw Audio I just mad at the situation. I'm sure the HSU should work out well, but the LFM-1 Plexiglass top sure looked sweet!

When we got my father a new TV for x-mass years ago, I put it on my card and we needed it delivered to my parents (so no matching addy) and I could not have it delivered to my house and then try and lug a 55" LCD to my parents!

I called the bank, changed my address to my parents house, purchased the TV, called back two days later and changed it back to my house... No issue.

That's weird that they would do nothing for you.

You make some valid points but there is a grey area here. I'm talking about the people that maybe don't want something valuable shipped to their door while there at work for the next 6 hours waiting for anyone to snatch it up. I've been in that situation before and have come out lucky at the end but I vowed never again.

However, what if I didn't have a credit card? What if all I could pay is by cash or cheque? What if I sent registered mail with a certified money order (cheque) which is guaranteed funds? You could have it shipped wherever.

That's terrible if Outlaw ONLY accepts credit card transactions.

It was my work address not my billing address and my bank would not allow me to add another address so that Outlaw could verify that it was okay to ship.
