I have a HK AVR254 with PSW110 sub, a RM8 center and a pair of T15. I use my system mainly for movies. I would like to buy additional speakers but not sure if to go with the full RM95 or use two RTi4 or Monitor 40b as my fronts and use the T15 as surround. I don't know if is a good combination, I have become a fan of polk since I bought my wife (believe it or not, my wife) the miDock 10 for birthday. Now I even have the ISonic2.

Well, your setup is already mismatched, so if you are going to add speakers for HT purposes then rti4 is a very good choice. You may have to turn the level on the surrounds up through the avr in order to hear them, which isn't a big deal.

on second thought... as far as tone goes, m30s/m40s might be the closest match to what you already have, and are much cheaper than rti4. Depending on how big of a speaker you want, take your pick.

It's just that for HT rti series is better, and so if you went with rti4s, you could slowly upgrade the rest of the components as funds allow.

Ok, thanks. Is the RM8 center good for the RTi4?

It will work, but I don't think it's a good match in terms of tone/timbre. Get started with this and save for a new center. The front 3 speakers are the most important to match up for quality sound. Your t15s will work fine as surrounds.

    Welcome to Club Polk!

You should get yourself a CSI-3 to match the Rti-4s and use whatever else you want as surrounds--they don't matter as much. That front three is where you should put your money. Could even go bigger with a CSI-5!

Rti-4s are great with HT and pretty good with music too. I use them in a 2.1 system in my bedroom and I'm very happy with that.
