I never heard an AVENTAGE model but if the reviews can be relied upon I do believe you'll be very, very, happy. Plus Crutchfield has a 60 day return policy. That gives you plenty of time to make an informed decision based on how it performs in you system. Let us know how it performs. I've been kicking the tires also on the possibility of a move on my part. The AVENTAGE models are certainly in the mix for me.

Probably a question better asked before a purchase

    Welcome to Club Polk, Gman1952!
I've had my RX-A1000 since June and I like it a lot! It's my third Yamaha (previous ones were lower RX-V models). I've used a couple of other brands in between, but keep coming back to Yamaha. I just dig their sound. I had initially grabbed an A800, but was not thrilled with it - too similar to what I already had. I returned it and auditioned the higher-end models, and it seems that the sweetness begins at the 1000. What other gear are you using with yours? You can see mine in my sig.

Haven't heard the new Aventage receivers by Yamaha yet. But, in general, the higher model Yammies have always been very good performers, and I suspect the A2000 will do fine as well.

Tell us what you think when you get it set up!
