    Seems a bit high.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

You should be able to get the monitors series cheaper than that.

Way too high for that speaker, canadian or not. Since new products cost so much up there, buy used and get more speaker for less coin.

Seems high, that's m70s territory in the U.S. I had R50s for a short while. I personally think they make a pretty good HT speaker. Paired with a sub, they will sound good for music too, but alone they lack in lower range for sure, which may not be a big deal depending on your taste in music. And as far as handling abuse, I think as long as you feed them decent power you should be ok to play loud. I personally think that is one good looking speaker. Kind of wish I still had mine...

Okay I'll finish the story... :p

A female employee working a Burger King didn't know where Winnipeg was and though we lived in ice homes to combat harsh weather called igloos... This was many years ago. The conversation started when I ordered a "Big King" meal which they sold at the time up here... but not there and she thought I asked for a big kids meal. Upon asking where I was from, that was her question.

R50's sell for $70/speaker routinely at Fry's. I know that probably doesn't help much North of the border.

R50s are decent towers but they've been out of production for a while now so 300 (even Canadian) is too much. 150-200 NEW would probably be OK. But if you're going to spend 300, why not try to find some M-70s--a better all around speaker and not that much bigger? I know it's hard to find some of this stuff up North. I'm right under you in Maine.

    Good Luck!

That makes more sense. You should have asked her if she lived in a teepee. Shakopee is kind of known for being indian country. That's where we go for casino fun (wouldn't be surprised if that was why you were out here). Big kids meal... lmao

Was just passing through actually on the way back from Minneapolis. Stopped for a bite to eat and vowed never to return. I was sad to learn of the lack of geography education for our neighbors DIRECTLY south of me just a couple of hours. What's funny is Winnipeg and Minneapolis are like sister cities.

I do have to agree on you there. Oddly enough, they've taught us more about France, Italy and Mexico in school. I know Canada it up north der, but that's about it. And it's only about 5 hours north.
