Upgrading Old Kenwood M2

I got my Kenwood M2 not too terribly long ago. When I opened it up, it had a thick layer of dust on everything. The kind of dust that is hard to get off. Took a couple of hours to get it respectable. I am thinking that this thing sat for a long time. Maybe it's me, but the more I have played it, the better it has sounded.

Anyway, I saw this online and thought it might be a good idea. I got the amp pretty reasonable and am not against putting some money in it if its gonna make a noticable improvement.

There is no way I could install this kit, but I am sure there is someone local who could do it. Any thoughts?

Basically (no pun intended) you are getting a brand new amp. I am going to say atleast $400-500 in labor from a shop to install the kit. The cost of the amp, kit and install is not worth it for these amps as they are merely medicore IMO. I owned and sold a lot of the Kenwood Basic gear back in the day. For the close to $1K you will have invested you could have bought a much better sounding amp. All IMO, of course.

Yikes! I had no idea installation would cost that much. Yeah, could get an awsome amp just for the price of the kit and install. Thanks for the info.
  • So, which amps close to $1k are so much better than the Kenwood M2?

I sold that amp years ago. Got a Parasound hca 1500a. Better, but sold it too.
