Subwoofer Box Design Confliction

I have a question about a sub box that I designed specifically for my truck. I have designed a box to fit two shallow mount 10'' Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW1000F subs. The subwoofer recommendations for a sealed box requires a Volume of 0.6cft, a Width of 28 1/4'', a Height of 12 3/4'', Depth one 4 1/16'' and Depth two 6 5/16''.
The sub box that I designed will fit perfect in my truck as it is a regular cab pickup and doesn't have much space. Attached to this thread is a picture along with measurements of the box I designed for my truck. But my ultimate question is will this destroy the performance of my woofers or will this have a minor effect on the bass? If so what effect will it have and how major will it be?

Keep on scrolling down the forum and you will land into the car audio section! Good luck!- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

To answer your question though now that I actually read it - the shape of that enclosure should not hinder your performance in anyway I dont think- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

The shape of the box will help hinder standing waves in the box. Which is not a bad thing. If that is external measurements the response curve should be just about what kenwood would have had for the recommended sealed size box. If that is the inside measurements it will still be close with just a touch more low end extension, and a touch more accurate, but dryer sounding as well as a slight drop in output but that would be barely noticeable. You will be just fine. That is if you are using .75" material to build it with a divider in the middle.

No there is no divider in the middle. Actually I know it’s kind of difficult to make it out but the middle 24'' is actually the break between the two speakers. The only thing exposed in this 24'' is the back panel of the two separate sub boxes; this allows me to mount my amplifiers in between the speakers and get them up off the floor and help save me some space. So actually the outside measurements of one box that one sub will be in will be Height_13'' Width_18'' D1_4'' D2_5'' I think I lose about close to 1/3 of the recommended volume. The recommended volume is 0.6cft and this box for one sub is 0.384cft. I'm just not entirely sure what type of loss I will have as I haven't played with enclosures much.
