I am new posting here, but have been registered for awhile now. I need 100 posts to post a WTB thread. I have previously had the SDA 1A's and model 7's and want the big fellas now  .I am looking for something in the SDA-SRS family, 1.2, 2.3 and/or the TL series. I am in NW PA and will travel within reason. Anything out here? If I am out of line, I apologize......it would take me a very long time to get that many posts created. I promise I am not trying to sell, just looking for a nice set.

Welcome lurker! Just to clarify, you don't need 100 posts to post a WTB thread, only to sell... And if you want to buy we are REALLY good at spending other peoples $$

Thanks :) . I did try to post in the classifieds and says I need 100 posts? Also, I have a big Nikko Alpha VI (300wpc) dual mono design amp and wondered if it is okay to use it on the speakers mentioned? I think it is a non-common ground, but I believe I used it on the Polks that had the umbilical. Oh, call me Jeff

Mods, would this thread be better off moved to the "vintage speakers" forum? Oh, I found these listed on that auction site, but not sure if they are worth persuing or hold off until a more preferred version like the TL series? http://www.ebay.com/itm/POLK-SDA-SRS-SPEAKERS-/110781271683?pt=Speakers_Subwoofers&hash=item19cb140e83 They are still a long drive for me.

Don't pass up a set of mint SRS's or 1.2's in hopes to catch a set of tl's..

The problem is that he asked me to bring an amp if i wanted to hear them. Says he doesn't want a "free for all"? Whenever I sell speakers, I actually prefer for them to hear what they are buying and use my own equipment so there are no phone calls when they take them home. I don't want someone hooking up their possibly junk amps and blow the drivers. That really isn't the big issue. He is about a 850 mile round trip and wants $1450 firm. His definition of near mint might be used loosely too. It would be alot better to find/hear some within a few hours drive :) .

Personally I feel he is high on that price for an original SRS set. $1200 max for the originals. They can be found normally in the thousand dollar range in excellent condition. The price he is asking is in line for the TL version in my opinion.

I have seen the originals as well as the tl's sell for $2000+

It really comes down to what the buyer wants and if he wants it bad enough he will buy it..

I also tried to contact Vintage Hi-Fi of Pittsburgh. That has to be the slowest site known to mankind! Still waiting for my message to go through.........lol. I have a pretty fast setup too.
