Just scored it for $350 to replace my current HK Signature 2.1 in 2 channels mode driving Rti12s.
when bridge, it will be 300 WPC.
what do you think of the price and this amp?

it's strange that I am keep wanting to move up. First amp was HK PA5800, then Signature 2.1, now Citation 5.1... maybe Citation 7.1 in the future? what other citation amps have more WPC than 7.1?

just scored another 1 today on audiogon for 300 shipped. This will power the Lsi9s that bought recently. Still keeping my eyes on the 7.1 though

i think the pdf is wrong or this is one super inefficient amp because the power rating, even in bridge mode, is only 300x2. A/B amps are usually around 60%+ efficient right? This amp never run hot, even when running 4ohms speakers in bridge mode (so it's like running 2 ohms is normal mode)
if you look at the 7.1 pdf, they say the max power is 2500W. this is not possible in houses in US because the max power we can get is 1800 (120v*15A).

Had a 125 amp FUSED panel in the shotgun house I had years ago, but 200 amp electrical panels are common in the US, at least on newer homes.
So 120v * 200 amps .... we're talking 24000 watts. That'll do it.
Nhhiep, I didn't read the PDF, but the 1800 watt figure you mention is for one circuit, and that's a 15 amp circuit.
In your electrical panel, you probably have 10 amp, 15 amp, and 20 amp breakers. Should be some "Spare" circuits available too.
If you run a dedicated circuit off of a 20 amp breaker, you have 2400W. Unless you're supplying sound to the entire neighborhood, you shouldn't have a problem.Sal Palooza -
Plus you have to remember an amp isn't using all that power at once, continuously.HT SYSTEM-
