Since we were changing directions, I thought a new thread would be cool.
Check this out as an option to load either Vortexbox or ubuntu os's and possibly Logitech Media Server app?

Pretty wild, and gets my old computer apps wheels spinning again. You "load" software/memory via an SD Card. Very interesting! See specs on link...

Looks like the simplest approach is loading Vortexbox freeware on an old (or new) computer though. Most everyone recommends at least 1Gb of RAM. I'll definitely go this route eventually--either build my own, or look for a cheapie smallish walmart/garage sale 'puter to be my victim.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

I would like to see some cheaper NAS options out on the market.

What I really like about the vortex solution, is that you don't need an GUI OS. Nice, simple, dedicated to music files.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2
