Ok so it's driving me nuts, can't finger out what to do to fix this problem. My info key brings up the guide. It's not the remote Harmony 880 as the PC remote that came with the HTPC tuner does the same thing.

As any one had an issue like this? And how did you fix it?

In this instance, Google is NOT your friend...hmm.

Now, is this WMP or Windows Media Center? I believe they have separate setting files that you can alter.

Lol no, I'm not calling you an idiot. You got it right with your first post.

    I would suggest starting here:
    http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Harmony-Remotes-Programming/Expanded-control-for-Windows-Media-Center-now-available-in-our/td-p/374844

Work your way through the posts and see if anyone has had issues similar to yours. Also, look into what it takes to remap the buttons on your remote. Find what command you need to open the guide in media center and then remap the "info" button on your remote to do that.

Even the info button on the original remote doesn't work either, so its not a remote issue but a software issue in my mind. But I'll look in that forum Thanks.

Update still doesn't work but found this or did this.

Control-D on the keyboard will bring up what I need. Microsoft may call this "More info/Display"

Since my IR sensor for the remote is connected to the Hauppauge 2250 tuner card, I called them didn't get really support but some ideas. So I did a HCWCLEAR.exe and redid all the software again. Here's a link for that http://www.hauppauge.com/site/support/support_hvr2250.html

    Then there's this http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?t=69454

But can't find anything like Remote-Sendkeys in the Regedit32. When I searched for mceremote.zip I got think this another remote thing and not for me.

So the "I" button sends a key but brings up the "Guide" and not "More Info". Two remotes do the same thing, so I think its not a remote issue.

It's not a remote "issue", but a conflict with the command the Harmony sends vs what the program (media center) has programmed.
    For example:
In XMBC, the "Info" key on your Harmony probably opens the Guide/Display like you would expect, because it's programmed that way. For some reason, Microsoft decided to add another feature and put it where the "More Info/Display" option normally would be.

It should be possible to remap your Info key on your remote to send the Windows Media Center's "More info/Display" command instead of what it currently has. You might be able to remap it using the software for your tuner, or by using an "Activity" on your remote...or by manually editing the keys on the remote itself.

It's not a Harmony remote issue either, since the remote that came with the HVR-2250 tuner card does the same problem with the "I" key. But a work around for now I reprogrammed the Harmony info key to send DVR Menu.

It's software but where? In Windows or Hauppauge software?

It's a registry thing. The info you seek is here:

    http://web.archive.org/web/20100123112445/http://www.mediacenterguides.com/advancedremotes#Input.inf

Had to go to archive.org to dig it up. Specifically, you are looking for a value in HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HidIr\Remotes\745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da\ReportMappingTable. The mapping table maps all the keys of the remote to specific commands. If you just want to reset the mapping table to defaults, check here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-tv/configuring-remote-buttons/7d5f7483-8915-4bfd-918c-f8e375c37a85

If this isn't enough info, Google for "ReportMappingTable" and there's lots more available.

    Syndil,

Do I add to ReportMappingTable or do I rewrite it?

You'll need to rewrite it. Or if you want to hunt down the entry for just the "Info" key and replace it, you can do that too. If you want to post your ReportMappingTable I will take a look at it and see if I can spot the problem.

Then I recommend following the instructions here to simply reset it back to defaults, to see if that cures the problem:

Did it just as it stated "Copy file in Bold" and save as text file in something.reg. Saving to desktop, then double chick it, it stated added to Reg and I rebooted happy to say looks as something was add to reg, but didn't fix it. The work around is fine for now, so not to worry now. I save dvd's to hd and wish to skip all the previews, which dvd menu works ok.

That save as X.reg file and double clicking file was new to me, and a bit scary the first time.
