Final hook up question

Ok so I am about to start wiring and placing equipment in my new media room and was wondering how I should place my amps. I have a closet where most of my gear is going to be placed its about a 20 foot run from where the amps could go. Or should i run longer cables between the receiver and the amps and short speaker wire between the amp and speakers? Meaning i would put the amps right next to the speaker.

Shorter interconects. longer speaker wire. Best.

The general consensus is that it's probably better to have short interconnects and longer speaker wires, than the reverse.

Most certain shot IC runs. Also good air circulation around your equipment. Heat kills. Computer fans work well.
