RTi4s Vs Monitor 40s.
So far im running a Onkyo TX-NR-609 With Monitor 70s as fronts CS2 as a center Rti4s as surrounds. As far speaker 6 and 7 to complete the 7.1 setup which should i go for just another set of rti4s? or maybe even monitor 30s will i notice that much of a sound difference.

I would build your system out of RTI's over the monitors.AVR: Onkyo Tx-NR808
Amplifier: Carver A-753x 250 watts x 3
Fronts: Polk RTI A7 (modded by Trey VR3)
Center: CSI A4 (modded by Trey VR3)
Rear: FXI A4
Sub: Polk DSW Pro 660wi
TV: LG Infinia 50PX950 3D
Speaker Cable: AudioQuest Type 8
IC: AudioQuest Black Mamba II -
Hey Mr. Mike - I too just recently purchased the Onkyo TX-NR609. I love the thing, its a gem. Only problem I have is that this receiver does NOT have a pre-out to hook up an amplifier. Keep that in mind when going up to bigger speakers which will require a separate amp to drive.
But I agree with jbooker, go with the RTi's. Receiver should drive them well.My Living Room 3.1 config:
Toshiba 40RV525U
Receiver: Onkyo TX-NR609
Center channel: Polk CS1
Front L/R: Paradigm Reference Studio 20
Subwoofer: Velodyne DPS-10
Rears: None

I doesn't make sense to use a 'larger' speaker as Rear surrounds. The Rti-4s should be fine. Actually I run two of them and an 8" 100 watt sub on an older Onkyo TX-SR 604 as my bedroom AV system and I really think the 4s sound nice with the Onkyo. Who would have thunk it...as Onkyos are not what one would call warm and neither are Rtis? But together there's some weird synergy!
