Earlier tonight, I was pruning a plant by the front door and Romeo came by. He laid down near me as usually, but made a funny grunt noise which made me look over at him to pat him at that time. He looked odd but not in a way to make me think that was the end. At that time the phone rang, It wasn't 30mins later I understood he hasn't moved so I went over to him but he was dead. I'm still in shock

It's always sad to lose a pet but, that is/was a great way to go out. Long, drawn out illnesses really suck ! Condolences.

Thanks guys / gals, I agree he didn't suffer and it was fast for him. Age not sure but thinking 10 to 12 years old, he was a stray when he became part of my life.

Romeo was a really sweet cat, and I'm sure everyone who came here for PF2011 he felt you came here for him. I miss him for sure may he be RIP he was 10 years old. We got him on 2003 August and he was about a 1.5 year old at that time.

Well, why would someone have come for a reason other than to visit Romeo? I mean, he was clearly the the most special and important thing in that household.

Honestly, I just consider myself lucky that my cat Fuzzbuster lets me live with him in his house.

All joking aside, just cherish the years you did have with him. As sad as his passing is, the affection and love ya'll had really does outweigh the sadness. When you feel you are ready, I encourage you to go to your local animal shelter and find another cat (or two, or three, or four...). That way you can enjoy another lifetime of love and affection.

An interesting way to look at it, and I feel you're correct he knew what was going on. So in the end he wished to say Good bye, I think the way he was he showed me he loved me too.

Sorry to here of Romeo's passing.

He looked like a cool cat.
Cats generaly don't like being held that way and to be held that way by a stranger II guess) is even more telling of his demeanor and trust of people. I like cats who like people.

I'm glad he was able to say good bye to you. Very special moment that was.
    Sorry for your friends passing.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
