Speaker stands for RT7

I have a pair of RT7's coming in that I plan on using for my surround speakers (5.1) and need some stands for them. My couch is quite tall so I'm guessing I'll need stands at least 30" tall if not more. I've found the Sanus speaker stands but their taller stands aren't rated for the 27Lb RT7! Any Polkies out there know of some good, tall stands for these speakers?

I don't have to worry about them getting knocked over much; they're hard to get to next to my couch...end tables in front of them, a desk next to one and chair next to the other. Plus the kids have been good about not touching daddy's things

Hi jaycam, Welcome to Club Polk!

    I can't help with the stands... sorry.

I did; however, own a pair of RT-7's not too long ago, and they are great sounding speakers. They use that rare 7.5" driver. Nice!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm slowly building my Polk system. I have a pair of RTA 8TL's (although an early 8TL from what I'm told) and the RT7's coming. I have my eye on a CS245 on ebay. I have a tight budget with two little ones but I'm trying to get the best bang for my buck.

Jay, I too started out looking for stands for my Monitor 40 surrounds, but after the advice I got in this thread, I went with the Pinpoint mounts. Glad I did, very sturdy, out of the way, and flexible positioning.

The Pinpoint mounts look like a very good option, quite affordable too! I assume that they need to be mounted to a stud right? That could be difficult with the wall I need to mount them to. The wall I have is (I think) a concrete wall with thin wood studs affixed to it to mount the drywall on. I'll drill a couple small holes where I will be mounting the speakers to see if this is the case or if that part of the wall has full sized wood studs in it.

In either way, thank you for the suggestion! They look like a great and sturdy option.

    Thanks again,
    Justin

    I would suggest these stands:

These are the ones that I use for my LSi9's, and they seem to be very well built and are quite stable. They can also be filled with sand or lead shot if you wanted; I may do that in the future. They're a steal for the price, in my opinion.

I went with the Dr Pro stands. If I went with the mounts I would want to run the speaker wire through the wall and that just means more holes in my walls that I'd have to patch later. I'm in a condo and hope to be there not much longer. I know there are the wire rails I could stick to the wall to hide the wire but then I have the rails to hide...stands just seemed easier.

    Thanks guys!
