Well good news for me thanks to a local anthem dealer
As you may or may not know anthem has stopped production of the 2008 avm50 series ARC upgrade dsp boards .There was supposed to be none left but my local dealer has been to the factory and is friends with some of the tech who work in the factory. One of his friends had a look and over 2 days of searching off and on he found one
The way my dealer put it is that I basically got the last one out there thanks to some helpful techs hunting it down by raiding the factory... how awesome is that? Lady luck is now on my side, after paying $852 that is

That's been driving you crazy, eh? Did you have to pay 852 for it? So what is the total you ended up paying for the amp? You paid the motherload, eh?

Total bill was.......... $1400 but knocked him down to $1200 for the avm40 plus $800 for ARC then $52 tax = $2052 . Seems kinda crazy because I could have just spent another $600 to $800 and ended up with a D2 and bought arc for $200 because you dont need a dsp board upgrade to run arc on them but the wife would never had allowed it
On my receipt it said that I get a life time warranty for the install so thats pretty good ..According to Anthem an avm40/50 with arc will sound better than a D2 without
