If anyone is interested in moving up to a Benchmark DAC then might be your chance. I just received this email.

"'DEAD or ALIVE Trade-Up? Program For Non-Benchmark Products
Due to the successful response to the first Benchmark Trade-Up program, we are pleased to announce the expansion of the Trade-Up program to accept any digital to analog converter, analog to digital converter, or microphone preamplifier, ?dead or alive.? If you or your friend has an old unit that meets that description, here is a great opportunity to upgrade your gear and receive a credit of 50% of the original purchase price, up to a maximum credit of $800, depending on the product.

Forward this e-mail to your friends or colleagues. Remember, we will take any DAC, ADC, or microphone preamplifier in any condition. Convert that old piece of gear, collecting cobwebs, into a brand new Benchmark product with the latest technology and stellar performance.

The trade-up program is only valid for Benchmark customers in the United States. The program starts on November 15, 2011 and ends on December 16, 2011.

Upgrades available on at www.benchmarkmedia.com trade-up or by calling 1-800-262-4675 "

If only they made that offer and you could buy another DAC instead of a Benchmark....guess that's kinda counterproductive.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I like the build quality of the Benchmark but I have only seen them at the audio show and the system sounded great but I would like to put it against my W4S DAC2 in my home..
