New Here

Hey, guys, just as the title says, I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself and just say "hey". I've been looking for a set of Polk SDA's of some sort as I've been longing for that sound again. In searching i came across this forum and felt like it was a great place to be.
I remember my first decent pair of speakers (years ago) were a set of monitor 10b's. I also remember hearing a set of SDA SRS's at a local dealer through a set of Krell mono blocks and a Linn-Sondek turntable playing Dark Side of the Moon...wow, what an incredible experience. It's been eluding me every since.
I'm rambling, however, I am on the look out for a nice pair of SDA's.
Thanks, Kerry

Welcome to Club Polk!
It might be worth it to list your location both in this thread and also your profile settings. I say that as there are always SDA sets floating in and out of circulation within these forum walls.
There could even be a set within driving distance of you now, but we wont know without having a idea of where you are located

Duhhh, I'm in Louisville, KY. Would drive as far as Chicago or Atlanta, or maybe even further if I combine it with a little vacation.

Welcome Kerry.
If any SDA's show up for sale, they are usually announced somewhere on here. We have a "Looking for SDA" thread here: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?29951-Looking-for-SDA-s-Updated-info-here!

Check the Flea Market. I believe there is a very good set of SDA 1C's for sale from a member located in Northern IL near Chicago."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." Here you go:
http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?125369-Polk-SDA-1C-s.
These were originally owned by NooshinJohn from this forum. He rebuilt the cabinets before he sold them to daboyz. Other mods are better capacitors and resistors. There are other mods (spikes, Larry's rings, etc) that can be done to make them sound even better.
In addition there is a chance I could help with pickup and get them down to Indianapolis for the cost of gas, where you could then pick them up. It would be totally dependent upon my schedule at the time though."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." Here is a pair, relatively close. I would go for these myself, but I want to stay married : )
