Hello everyone! I'm glad to be a part of the Polk community! I picked up a couple Polk speakers on Craigslist a couple weeks ago. I was told they were 8T's but after looking at them I think they might be 8TL's. The model number on the back does say 8T but it looks like they have the tweeter from the 8TL and the port is in the spot where it is on the TL. Any idea what speakers I really have? Thanks!

It has the SL-2500 tweeter, the spoiler above the tweeter and the cabinet has non-beveled edges like the TL but the tag says 8T. It is an early TL.

Thank you! I was leaning towards it being a TL but was thrown off by the model# on the back.

Hi again, I've been reading some old threads about updated tweeters for these speakers. The tweeters on my speakers sound fine but they are dented a little. Would upgrading them improve the sound and be worth it? Would Polk even have them available still?

    Thanks again guys!

The RDO-198 replacement tweeters would be a decided sonic improvement. IIRC, $48 each shipped to your door (if you're in the 48 state USA). I replaced the SL-2500 on my Monitor 5jr+ Series II speakers and was very pleased with the results.
