I took a trip to BB to compare these remotes and to see what the differnt functions were they offered. The one I was keen on could handle 15 different devices and was IR controlled and listed for $200 and had a open box unit for $179.Now the more expensive model that went for $300 and change was controlled through RF sgnals and could (see through walls). This is something that I really do not need. Now as I said before I have an in w/ a BB relative and the price might be worth the gamble. As also I reported that I have at least 5 ir devices of varying makes and years and wonder how this could work.
Finally and real seriously I have an Adcom gfa55 200wpc amp that is controlled by a giant on/off rocker switch,if this was to be plugged into my Onkyo rear outlet would it inturn make the Adcom an IR device? I know that 98% of you guys frown upon powering any amp through a pre but for this one time would possibly work.
Now unless and untill I either get the remote or don't this should be the last post of a Harmoney One System.

Thanks for the listen and I relly hoped it made as much sense to me as it did to you..........LW

does the pre have a 12vt trigger? They maybe 12vt triggers that work off remotes as well.

Never mind, I would not plug my amp into a 12 trigger device.

I use the 1100 remote. I have to turn my Parasound amp on via front rocker because I don't have a trigger to turn it on. IMO if you're too lazy to just get up and turn the amp on manually then buy a different amp.

Harmony works as it should. Mine is a full touchscreen and very easy to use IMO.

I had the 1000 and it was a decent remote but would lock up occasionally. Also, as already mentioned, having to look down to press the transport controls, became somewhat of a pain.

I now use the Harmony One in the living room and Harmony 700 in the bedroom and I am quite happy with both.

Get the Harmony remote if you dont think you will ever need IR, otherwise get the model one up with IR.

For your turning on the amp situation, if you dont have a decent surge protector I would get one. Lots of the good ones have a 12 volt trigger for their high current plugs (i.e. amps & subs). You could then not only have your gear protected but also turn it off and on via the 12v trigger. Also the Harmony one remote works w/ the APC models.

I have a H15 myself and plan to set it up to trigger my PSW125 and Carver 705x amp on and off.

I believe the H10, H15, and some of the Panamax models have a 12v trigger for just that reason.
