Im a little new to the forum but i need a little info on choosing a receiver. I have rti a1 spk for front and fxi3 for bck and m10 s for surround and a csi a4 center polk speakers with a str dh810 sony receiver sony blue ray and tv as well. Makes it kind of nice having all sony for just one remote but i made the mistake of not buying a receiver with pre outs. I'v been looking at these reviews on receivers and what i was looking at was nad t747 or t765 i do not need 3d but the family does watch movies. Mostly used for music and all around ht use. Also i was looking at the 4600es sony and the sc35 pioneer. From my understanding the nad and the sony have the same amps. I am wanting to stay with a 7.1 ht system but I also want to have a second zone for patio.Im looking to upgrade for the new lsim polk 703s down the road a little later. Can anybody tell me if there is much difference in sound qaulity if I do upgrade to any of these receivers? Thanks

Do some research on the Onkyo HT-RC370, which is on my radar as well. Waiting to pull the trigger until Black Friday when it most definitely will go on sale, probably for just under 400. It will suit all your needs above and is expandable with 7.2 pre-outs.

I would go with the sc-35, has plenty of power, all the bells & whistle's. And preout incase you want upgrade with an amp for those 703's later. If you search the threads there's a ton of information on this subject on this site. HAVE FUN. Love shopping for new equipment.

+1. Newegg had this for $399 less than a week ago. It has almost all of the bells and whistles (including Burr-Brown DACS and pre-outs) of the 709 for much less money.

All receivers sound diff from one another with each brand having what we call a flavor or house sound. The onkyo line up should be in your choice as it favors well with the rti csi line . Why not try an anthem mrx receiver for arc ?

I love the way my rt7 and pioneer sc-25 sound. The sc-35 has the same ice amp technology and many people love the sound of these amps. In fact i picked up a display sc-35 at best buy for my other set up (also with rt7s) to replace a really nice yamaha rx-v1800. Def give the sc-35 a look...
