We're all Disney'd out and have a free day tomorrow, thinking about going to the beach.

As I understand it, none of the beaches in Orlando are that great, so need 2 recommendations.

1. The least crappy beach in Orlando
2. The best beach within a couple hours driving distance or so

TIA

Head over St. Pete way. There is a really good restaurant called The Friendly Fisherman, a cool candy store called the Candy Kitchen, and bunch of beaches....

My suggestion is Cocoa Beach, or Daytona Beach. Daytona Beach you can drive on, which could be fun.

I have been to New Smyrna Beach which is about 20 minutes from Daytona beach. Very nice area but it is the shark capital of the world. My son caught some baby sharks when night fishing off the beach.

Seems like a nice spot to take the family and throw the kids in the water....sharks ?? Ok, maybe just the wife.

A beach within a couple hours of Orlando ?? Dude, pick a coast man. Golf side or Atlantic side.

Seafood Atlantic 520 Glen Cheek Dr 32920. $20 Maine lobster. Swoardfish, grouper, sea bass, are also on the menu. It's right where the cruise ships come in at the Cape. No real plates just paper and styraphome and it's only outside seating but the best food around. They close at 730 so get there early. I'm in St. Pete but am heading that way today for a wedding tomorrow so we will be eating there around 5. It's 15 minutes from the beach. Not sure where to eat in Cocoa. Make sure you get your RonJon sticker!
