RTI 28 wall mounts

I'm diving into home theater for the first time. I want to know: what is the best wall mount to use for rti28's?

I've read that many wall mounts are either impossible to tighten up or just plain flimsy.

My new system:
Front: RTI38's
Center: RTI40
Rear: RTI 28's
Sub: Hsu VTF-2
Receiver: HK AVR-525

Unfortunately, I won't be able to set them up until we move into the new house in December. Are these components going to match up well?

Drive a nail in the wall, use the power port. Did that for a year or so with no problems. Rock on! Make sure you hit a stud...

Yep, I agree about using the built in power port mount. I use #10 1.5" screws driven into a stud. Only problem with this is if you want to angle or point your speakers at the audience. The power port mount works best for surround speakers since surround speakers should be overhead and pointed over the audience instead of "at" the audience. If you want to aim them you will need a different mount.

not to hijack ur thread or anything but im about to hang up my fxi30s and i want to know how high...i have heard 6 ft and that sounds fine but is it 6 ft from the top of the speaker or 6 feet from the bottom...i only have 8 ft ceilings. please help me

Unfortunately the back of the room opens to the kitchen.

Due to the arrangement of the room, the rears will have to be about 5-7 feet behind the main listening area on the side walls.

I think they will need to be angled forward.

What about the B-Tech 77 wall mount on the Polk site?

Has anybody used these? Will they work with the 28's? Will I have to drill? I'd really rather not!

Mine are 6 feet from the bottom of the speakers to the floor.

6 ft from the bottom leaves me with 11" until the ceiling...is that too close to the celing? my csi40 is about 64" off the floor on a shelf in my EC. should i mount the fxi30s at the same hight? they will still be above the listening position which would be a couch on the wall right under them. or is higher better?

I think 64" would be fine for the FXi30's as well. The rule of thumb for surrounds is 2.5' to 3' above ear level when seated.

Small shelves would work as mounts for the RTi28's as well. Shelves would allow you to aim the speakers left or right (but not up or down) and would be sturdy. I'm using shelves for my back surrounds. Just be sure to mount the shelves in studs and they need to be about 12 inches deep.
