My guess is all the nominations were getting silly and not taken seriously. What was a semi-serious thread degraded quickly. In fact Mark never asked for people to publically nominate, but to send him a private email. I'm all for getting silly and obnoxious sometimes, but somehow I don't think it was appropriate for that particular thread as it was meant to be serious.

It's just my guess based on how the thread was progressing.

That's exactly right. When it can be taken seriously, I'll undelete it.

If it's for Polkie of the year, why would you want to vote for more than one? The votes would just cancel each other out.

I hope my "dude crush" comment didn't contribute to the thread's deletion. That was not my intention.

I love the idea, and Mark, I sent you a serious nomination email last night.

A solution would be to have it categorized, like the Club Polk Emmy's. This way, there could be more than one, Polkie of the Year.

    Example:

    Polkie of the Year
    Post of the Year
    Thread of the Year
    Karma of the Year
    etc...

    Just a suggestion.

While that is a good suggestion, the format was decided at PF 2008 by Polk. So it's already in motion as Polkie of the Year.

Here's a thought ...... is it possible that this award could go to a memeber who does not even own any polk speakers ? How weird would that name look up on the wall at the polk if it went to some one with all klipsch speakers

^^^Here's a better thought. How weird would it be if you took the time to think BEFORE you post PFB? A coherent thought would be nice rather than the trolling bs you come up with. Back to Bozoville for you.

Thanks PFB for the PM telling me how I should conduct myself on the forum. But what you don't realize because you don't seem to have 1/2 a brain enough to read the entire thread is the reason the last thread on this topic was deleted was for assinine comments like the one you posted here. You did the same thing in the other thread. Sometimes you just have to grow up and act like an adult.

On the other thread I said I should be nominated when I'm far from a nominee.......... So thats why the thread was closed ?

If this thread was started to nominate some one then its a silly idea because we are all fully aware that we post our comments to the MOD

^^ I think what you meant to say was that you never knew you had been to bozoville.

I think it was Brock that said it of which I agree. Your posts, sometimes, are too entertaining to bozo list you.

But...but...how will he win the acceptance and approval of his peers if he doesn't have his name on a little plastic or brass plate stuck to a chunk of wood in a building somewhere in Maryland that he's never been to and likely won't ever get to? I mean, you gotta have SOMETHING to rub in your compadres faces and hold over their heads until they are so sick of you they want to shoot you? Right?

Personally, if this ever does get to a vote, I'm voting "Present" just because of **** trumpets like pfb here and their disgusting displays of desperation for acceptance.

I contributed to derailing the thread in an attempt to be humorous, so I apologize for that. I think its a great idea to give a member this recognition. I will refrain from posting in the thread when it is revived and will nominate someone for the award.

I'd also like to thank PFB for PMing me and making fun of my rig. Come to think of it, isnt everything in his rig covered by dust, have broke binding posts, looks like it was pulled behind a truck and only has one HDMI port working? Oh, I forgot about the screen and the $60.00 he still owes me in shipping his broke AVR back to him.

Good grief! At this rate, I'm not sure that Polk should even to continue with this great idea since the majority of you seem to insist on acting like jack asses who wear size 1 shoes!

As H9 said, grow up already and try to act like adults! You are not impressing anybody and making yourselves look very bad in the process.

Polk put this in place to try to honor the commitment some of us have to this forum and it's members, the least you can do is try to take it somewhat seriously.

For those that actually took the time to PM or email me as requested, THANKS YOUS GUYS!!. I was surprised at the actual nominees in a way. They all reflected what I DID actually ask you guys to do, which was to really think about who you thought did the most for the forum over the given year. The ppl mentioned weren't wrong, undeserved or anything, don't misread this please, but they were not folks that stood out to me personally. I wouldn't have nominated them but after retrospect and explanation by the nominatOR, I understood it all and subsequently agreed with the decision.

Look....THAT's what I want guys...just think about who helped you this year, who helped others this year, who had the best rib on another member...WHATEVER! It doesn't matter overall....it's just who you think adds the most personality and contributes the most to us all collectively. Simple enough?

While I would love for my name t be on this plaque, I'm 100% exempt from this idea from start to finish of the project. I could say that doing all this is reward enough but that would be a crock of ****....and yes, I broke the language rules on that one since it's TOTALLY fitting to the context of all this.

Seriously guys, and gals, I do find this to be another important element of our forum. No, the thread wasn't shut down due to humor but I had more people posting funny things and not following up to me offline with the actual subject issue. That's why I yanked it.

If you are all on board with doing this, by all means, contribute to the thread in some way since it keeps it fresh and on top but take a moment and email or PM me your nomination.

This means a lot to Polk and to me personally since I'm never going to be on it, so I have to live vicariously thru you guys, ha ha. We have one of the best internet forums out there, so let's give a small segment of our time back to it always, but at the very least for this....OK?

Ignoring is often times the best option, but there are many here who use the "ignore list" as a way to draw more attention; I don't get it.
