The sub has it's own built in amp, the Emo will definately power your 7's, but....are you sure your receiver has preouts to add the amp first off ?

The subwoofer has an amp built in, no need for another amp just to power the subwoofer. The Emo or Halo amp is for the speakers. Now, how about you fill us in on what other gear you will be using like a receiver,dvd,cdp,blu-ray, etc. Also, have you given any thought to cables and what you need to hook it all up ?

I think your confuseing an amp with a reciever. In USA an amp is not the same as receiver.

    dj,

having dabbled in turntables my self, i must ask, are you using this setup for your practice room or do you plan to spin for a house parties, be them at your house or elsewhere?

i know the rtia7 will sound good and will work, but be careful trying to overpower a drunken crowd or just lots of people together. I have learned the polks are more about details and subtleties versus mass sound.

when we spun in undergrad the house had 4 cerwinvega towers, i dont remember which i just know they had the dual subs either 15" or 12 and they were amped, those could pump out mass sound or if the party was big enough there was large PA systems.

i know its too late as your speakers are on their way, point is, if you kill'em dont be upset because you took them outside their intended use.

if its for your practice and small get together youll be fine, either way enjoy.

if my info is wrong, someone correct me.

    thanks for reading.

Welcome to Club Polk. The sub has it's own amplifier, so there is no need to hook it up to the Emotiva amp. The RTIs will sound great being powered by the Emotiva. What receiver are you going to use, whichever one you get, make sure it has preouts in order to hook up the Emotiva to it.
