I don't really like the album but if I find it on sale somewhere, may pick it up for the library.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

That's a bit too rich for me, although I am a fan of the original. And on that note, this is really a generational experience for many of us. If you were almost in High School or further along when this came out....especially if you were in your 'teens'... the lyrics of some of the songs became manifestos of a kind. Similar to things like Catcher in the Rye, Clockwork Orange, Catch 22, ...Cuckoo's Nest, and so on: 'Everybody' had the LP. I even have the RTR tape of this--one of my 'only' tapes.

    The CD version is 'lacking'.

Mine came in today ... very nice packaging and the 5.1 mix sounds great.

I like the new mix - there's a lot of detail and finally some low end. The bonus tracks are really nice as well... per usual I ripped the stereo 24/96 LPCM tracks to FLAC.

Yah it's a little spendy. But I figure after spending thousands on audio equipment ..why the hell not. :)

At the very least, I'd say the 2011 mix is a noticeable improvement and the extra tracks are good too. Worth getting the CDs for anyway.

I've heard alot of good reviews about this set. And Aqualung is one of my favs, so I might as well pick it up. Really looking forward to the 5.1 mix. And having a new LP is nice too.

The Blu Ray is a bit pricey for me at this time too, did just receive the 40th anniversary edition cd and it's the best I've heard so far. Maybe Santa will bring me the BR :)
Yep, my name really is Bob.

Definitely improved the sound of this album. I haven't been listening to the 5.1 mix much, but the stereo high res version is really nice.

So far, I've only listened to the 2 channel remix. Wow what a sonic improvement. And the bass extension is way better than the original. If the LP and 5.1 mixes are as good, it will be money well spent.
