Connecting MW 6500 to Monitor 5A?

OK,
I got my new drivers so I could correct the mismatch I have in my 5As....thanks Keith (geppy).
So I removed the 6502 and I have two wires: one white, one black. The MW6500s have a reddish orange spot on the casing next to one lead...I should know this, but/and I'm too lazy to pull the other driver, actually I don't want to weaken the seal there!
So which wire is +, which is - and what is the red spot of the 6500....+ or -?
Many thanks!

A search suggests that the WHITE wire is the Negative? Is that correct?
Now, what is the red dot? Positive or Negative? I'm assuming Negative? Anyone?
Actually the old 6502s were, wired out of phase (maybe). The white wire was on the Positive speaker term and the Black was wired to the negative.
So should I wire the Black to the red dot and the White to the other side, assuming that it's negative?
Are you guys really going to make me pull the other driver?

I am not familiar with this model but all other vintage Polks I have dealt with would have the white wire negative. the red (ish) dot on the driver should signify positive. If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of Progress?!

Yes, black wire to the red dot.

Thanks guys,
I have everything up and running. Can definitely hear the difference from the 6502 which was also wired out of phase!

I have a couple questions about your speakers. How is the bass from your 5A's? Mine seem a little lacking compared to my 5B's. When you had the MW out was there Daycron batting behind the PR or just behind the MW? Mine is behind both the MW and PR.

Hi Stan,
Let me take this from back to front. Both speakers have white Daycron batting behind BOTH the MWs and the Passive Radiator...quite a bit of it, in fact!
The bass is adequate for a speaker of this size but it varies some according to the amplification used. Can't compare them to 5Bs because I haven't heard those and it's also unfair to compare them to my 10As which are much larger, have the two mids and lots of bass. Compared to other bookshelves I have (ADS L520s, EPI 100Vs, etc.) I'm not sure if the 5As match their bass so they benefit from room boundary bass reinforcement and placement. I have mine pretty close to a wall. But I'd need to hear 5Bs.
I've run these off a number of Vintage Receivers/amps and I find that those receivers and amps that have more ooomph on the lower end (bass) sound best with the 5As whereas ADS and EPIs seem less picky about that?
I've checked the speakers for a tight seal and that seems very good so it shouldn't be affecting the bass.
The amount of batting in there almost reminds me of an aperiodic design like a Dynaco A25 (obviously it's not) but there's more than one would expect in the cab.
Don't know if this helps or not.
Are you thinking that the batting behind the PR interferes with its bass output?

Thanks, it helps a lot. I had been wondering if someone had added batting to my 5A's since the rule of thumb id not to have ant behind the PR.
Another question... did you find a bunch of excess glue rattling around inside? Mine had an insane amount.

I can't say that I saw any excessive amounts of glue when I had these open? Seemed pretty normal in there except for the excess batting.
