My neighbor mentioned he was looking to get an htib but lamented having wires and speakers sowas considering a surround bar. I told him convincingly about the SDA surround bar and that I would love to hear it if he got it. He ordered it and will be here in a couple of days. He knows it isn't along the lines of a bigger system but he really liked my sda's prior to the upgrade.

Anyone have experience, opinions or advice? He already ordered it but I would like som input before we hook it up. I'll be comparing to my jamtastic setup but am not a snob, he'll be comparing to his tv flat screen speakers but likes good sound but is aware of the budget to quality ratio.

I think I did a good thing talking him into it, what do you think? I guess I'm just excited to hear them and want to share the enthusiasm. SDA livez!

evhundsons, I had the chance to demo the SB 6000 and was impressed by it. It was a great improvement over the tv speakers. And if you are looking for something you don't have to run any speaker wires and want to be low profile this is ideal. I watched several movies on it and specifically remember when watching "Mater and Commander" turning my head several times trying to figure out were the sound was coming from. Specifically when they are eating a meal in the background something drops and I remember turning my head to see if something fell in my bedroom.
Hated to have to box it up and send it on its way. May want to check out this http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?103380-Polk-Audio-SurroundBar-6000-Instant-Home-Theater-Demo

    Cool, thanks!

After I hook it up for my neighbor I'll give a good objective view. I think I'll get that same movie to demo, on bluray

I'll keep you posted in a few days.

It's a huge improvement over internal speakers and for a downright silly easy to setup product, its just perfect for a all in one solution. I have one on my bedroom system and its what is in my main HT for the moment. I downgraded from a full on 5.1 system and a 9.1 setup to the SB6K and while it's certainly not a replacement, I'm not unhappy in any way.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
