First off thanks to all for the help and I have all my stuff now need to install correct and clean.
I have a Sony LED Flat Screen, Sony A/V receiver, Sony Blue Ray, Polk Audio (6 RM1300, Sub., & Center Channel)
and Direct T.V. H.D. D.V.R.
#1
Do I need anything else other than a HDMI cable from my blue ray and direct tv rec. (1 from each)
into my Sony receiver. Then 1 HDMI cable out of Sony rec. into the flat screen to achieve the best audio quality?
I was thinking I might have to add a Optical digital cord or Coaxial digital cord. I guess I am under the assumption
that HDMI is more for video than audio.

For over all sound quality what is the better speaker placement? Should I use my original 5.1 ( 2 front speakers each setting left and right of flat screen center speaker center front of flat screen 2 surround rear each setting left and right of couch on end tables and sub on floor to right side of couch) and add my 2 new speakers to :
A FRONT HIGH LEFT AND RIGHT or
B REAR HIGH LEFT AND RIGHT
My viewing & listing room is approx. 22 feet long by 14 feet wide with flat screen to couch facing each other on
on wide side with approx. 10 feet nose to screen.
Thanks once again and I hope this makes some sort of sence.
