Most of ya'll know what a tape fiend I am, while going through stuff for moving house, I found this coaster, nice thick, embossed, soft, calf hide leather coaster
It'll be on the coffee table in the new place under a nice beverage :loneranger:

Wasn't that for Maxell ? Anyway, still a cool ad. -
I have one of those head demag's also, and Maxell was giving the poster away for free a couple years back.

Maxell...that's right, sorry.
I should've ordered one for free but I know I can still pay for one somewhere..Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
Almost as cool as my vintage TDK cassette demagnetizer.
I have one of those as well. I showed it to my fourteen year old and it brought out a 'gasp' like I had something extraordinary! lol

I still use one of those on the (admittedly rarely-used) cassette deck in the family room... -
As cool as that TDK demag is, if you record metal tapes you really need a good wand type to get a clean degauss on the parts to do it proper...turn it on 3 feet away and slowly move to the deck, pass it around the heads (don't touch them with the wand!) then move slowly back 3 feet and turn it off. I'd still like to have one of those just for my TDK collection.Thorens TD125MKII, SME3009,Shure V15/ Teac V-8000S, Denon DN-790R cass, Teac 3340 RtR decks, Onix CD2...Sumo Electra Plus pre>SAE A1001 amp>Martin Logan Summit's

I've got one (OK... a couple) of those, too :-)
Actually, somewhere in the detritus I have a 1970s-big ol' Maxell belt buckle - basically a cast-metal, life sized cassette shell motif :-) If I manage to find it... I'll post a photo sometime... -
I didn't realize that both of you were illustrious graduates of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? What is it that 'animates' your wand's core? lol
Wands. If that doesn't sound like 'audio magic' I don't know what does!
Anyone got some pics?
(I should add that I've noticed 'significant' improvements in performance after the use of the standard demagnetizer pictured above)

I found a Nakamichi head demagnetizer at... well, you know where... a few weeks back.

Guilty as charged. It could be worse. One can actually pick a path through our basement - and not ALL of the stuff down there is mine (only about 75%).
