Sda srs 2.3

I just got a set of these and so far I just love them. But I have a few questions. I have a early set with the donut drivers but from reading the later ones before they released the 2.3tl Polk went away from the donut drivers and went to something else. What is the difference in the sound between the donut and the non donut 2.3? Would it be worth my time to order the drivers to update mine to what they later went too and were there any difference in the cross overs.

My understanding is that they are two different speakers and the 2.3 cannot be upgraded to TL, but I have been wrong before.
Congrats and just enjoy them. The Gear... I think the OP is asking if some of the 2.3's [non-TL] came without the donut driver. I read here on the forum that there are
a few examples around and that the donut driver [MW6513] is a MW6511 with the donut. Also read a post that Polk still offers the MW6511. And someone posted a picture of the current replacement MW's available. The only difference was there were
no solder points showing on the front of the driver. As for the difference in sound, I don't know.SDA 2.3/RDO's... xovers by Ben

Yes that is what I am talking about. I don't want to try and make mine into a 2.3tl I wanted to know how they sound without the donut drivers sense from what I have read the later 2.3 did not use the donut and instead used a mw6511.Absolute corruption empowers absolutely.

They put the "donuts" on the driver because they beleived they had too much midrange. Not sure why the TL's don't have them.

Well it's good to know why they were there. I have been working on then and so far I found 2 speakers that were wired wrong and now that I have set that right they are great.
Next thing I am going to do is redo the cross overs and seal them up better. The stripped out holes and failed foam gaskets need to go asap.Absolute corruption empowers absolutely.
