Does RCA Y Adapter Improve PSW10 Performance/Sound Quality

I just purchased the PSW10 to go along with my CS2II ad M40IIs.
I am using a 15 ft RCA cable and put one end in the Yamaha Receiver Sub Output and the other in the LEFT input of the subwoofer. I then turned low pass (HZ) up all the way.
I am wondering if I am good to go or if a Y Adapter would increase sound quality OR performance.
I can get one for cheap online but it's still money in the bank and something I'd like to be knowledgeable about.
If hooking up a Y Adapter DOES increase quality/performance, how noticeable is the improvement to a person with good ears and love for music/movies?
Thanks
Bonus question:
Are there any quality/performance benefits to hooking your sub into your Receiver instead of your Power Conditioner/Surge Protector?

The only reason I use a Y adapter is to run two subs.. I don't see where you would benefit from it..

Kenneth Swauger, posted something about this in another thread awhile back, maybe he'll chime in here. Anyway, I purchased an Audioquest Y Splitter for a YST SW216 subwoofer and adjusted the low pass to the highest setting. The improvement was quite remarkable in my experience.

Mike,
Looks like I am about to learn something, how do you have it hooked up?? -
Jamor, welcome to Club Polk. As the post by Ken Swauger linked above points out, there's no improvement in sound quality which can occur from using a Y adaptor. It feeds two voltages instead of one into the sub amp, which then sums them, resulting in a 6dB loudness increase(a doubling of voltage is 6dB, compared with 3dB for a doubling of power) at the same level control setting, and which of course sounds better simply because it's louder. The maximum performance capability of the sub is unchanged. Since modern sub pre-outs have plenty of voltage output available, the same result can be had by just turning the sub trim level control up a bit in the receiver or by turning the level control on the back of the sub higher. So, if you don't have a Y now, there's no good reason to spend money on one. Your present arrangement is fine.
