I noticed this when taking pics for the System Showcase. There seems to be some odd discoloration around the SL2000 tweeters in my RTA's. The tweets in my Monitor 7's look fine.

Any ideas on what it might be?

If those are RTA 12B's or C's it's part of the tweeter module. I suppose it's for anti diffraction or something like that. My 12C's have it.

Ok that makes sense. It's been a long time since I've seen an RTA12 in person.

My SL2000's looked like that too when I replaced them in 2008, but they seemed to sound the same (fatiguing) as they did when they were new in 1987.

Yep, I second the RDO194-1 suggestion.
