hello all,
Just wanted to let you all know about my newbie experience with upgrading my analog RCA interconnects from my cd player to the integrated amp.

I started out with some monster interconnects- basically sounded okay.

I then bought Audioquest Sidewinders- sounded a little different, but not really any tangible improvements.

So I just bought Audioquest King Cobra, got them today, not even broken in, listened to for 1 hour so far...
But Definitely an immediate improvement:
Wow the voices no longer appear like they are emminating from a circular 14 inch area of smudge in the middle of centerstage But
THEY ARE ACTUALLY MORE FOCUSED, now appear more precise/emminating from an approximately 7 inch circular space centerstage. I must say WOW!
Very nice.
But now I think the Audioquest sidewinders aren't very good quality.
In my opinion, I'm pleased @ the $200 spent on the King Cobras.

So how long before the interconnects are broken in?

Thanks for the heads up. Glad you like them.
I don't know how long it usually takes for cables to break in.

I'm running AQ King Cobras myself and they are definitely a good sounding IC. Keiko is spot on, it should take about 100-120 hrs before they are fully burnt-in. Regarding the AQ Sidewinders, these are actually some of the best budget ICs out there in their price range, but they are no match for the KCs. The KCs are several wrungs up the ladder from the SWs.

You can get AudioQuest Black Mamba II from Audio Advisor. It uses the same wire as the King Cobra's and has the silver RCA-800 ends. A 3 pack of 1.5m long cost $250. Which is about $84 bucks a pair. You can also buy them in single pairs at any length but they cost a little more that way.

The only thing is they don't have a thick textile jacket. They are thinner and have the tough mesh jacket.

nice! glad you like them. I've used SW before and didn't mind them as they were better than what I was using at the time. However I do like Audioquest's higher end stuff but in my 2 channel I'm an MIT fan (even though I don't have it in there yet lol)

I've never heard the King Cobra, but I did prefer the "lesser" Sidewinder/Copperhead to the Diamond backs. The DB was just flat and lifeless, to my ears.
