I will get it Monday, Newegg has a sale going on for the STR-DN2010 for $229, cheap. I, of course wanted a Mac Daddy Pioneer/Onkyo/Marantz, but have to be realistic. I do have a good one in the dining room, the Sansui G33000, which I will eventually get either Monitor 70's or better someday. The old Pioneer VSX-406 is pretty bulletproof, however, I miss the connectivity and upscaling the newer receiver provided for HT, Hulu and older DVD's. Knowing the last time I had a Sony, my only issue was the bs 110 wpc and not really bi-ampable with the Monitor 60's (still irritates me a bit). I will try bi-amping the 40's and see what that sounds like or mess creation, not sure yet. Might have to grab some Monitor 50's, as I am pretty sure bi-amping the 60's will produce the same result and smoke let out of the transformer again, like the model 1000 did. Maybe they also built the STR-DN2010 better than the STR-DN1000 ? They look similar on paper, except a few upgrades, 3D and ethernet to name 2 upgrades, not sure about the transformer and it's heat dissipation.
Of course Newegg had a big sale on the Pioneer 1121 ($429) two days after I got the Sony coming. Doh !
Murphy and his dang laws.
Anyway, wanted to share, as I have been gimping along with the old Pioneer for a half hearted (HT 3.1 posing as a 5.1) and am excited kinda to get back to at least the level in which I was before, when I had the 1000 model.
