Hey guys and gals. FINALLY got the semi remodel of my garage/ht/man cave done (I had forgotten how much I hated having to mud and tape), and I was trying to get your guys take on the colors Ive picked out. Ive pretty much narrowed it down to these two colors, just dont know exactly HOW I want them to go on the wall.

Just so you guys know, the speakers will be on the inside, next to the wing walls that come out. The tv will be hung on the wall around the middle (where the O shaped whole in the wall is). All my a/v equipment is off to the right.

Im curious if you guys like the gray on top (where the tv would be, and the a/v cabinet), or would you rather see the blue on the top?

Its hard to picture your room from those pics but I have saw some great garage conversions on youtube . I think the colors are a little cold for that small area .Maybe you could go for a really dark red as it works well in a dark viewing environment. What color of furniture will you have inside .

If your going all out .like you seem to be than why not get a low cost front projector in there to really have the true HT experience

I like the choice of blue/black. Everyone seems to go for the dark red, myself included. If your turning the garage into an HT, please throw a projector and screen in there to make it worth your efforts.

Back to your OP. As for your screen wall, I would do that entirely in flat black. From there you can do your two tone of blue on top, black on bottom. It would flow nicely that way. Doing black for the screen wall does a few things. Regardless of display, your image will have more depth of field (pop), it will kill any reflection, etc. If your thinking its expensive to go big, think again. Epson projector for 700, 100" screen for around 100-300 bucks. Done deal.........

    Awesome project, excellent work Polkie.

Personally, I like your choice in colors. As Sherard stated, definitely go with a flat black ceiling as well as screen wall, difference of night and day. Check out my showcase, think I still have before and after pics of my ceiling and screen wall before painting them flat black. Can't wait to see the final pics. With that being a dedicated H/T, sure hope plans of a projector and screen are in the future.

I like the colors you have chosen and to my eye, I prefer the blue on top.

It's very nice that your wife gave you a man-cave even if it's in the garage.

Be sure and make it tasteful so she will want to come and visit often. Got any black light posters of semi-nude women you can hang to make the atmosphere really manly? You know what I'm talkin about.

Are you worried about the rattle from the big doors as low frequencies pressure the room from your manly sub-woofer? That is one big reflective surface.

I think Im going with the darker on top. Especially since thats where the television is going to be ha works out better that way. I pre-ran conduit for a projector, just dont have the money right now for it. Seeing as the the projector is 1500 and the screen is another 400, gotta save up my pennies for that one.

As far as the room right its not that small, something alone the lines of 18x19? not so bad better then my old room which was 10x11 lol and when I originally built up my garage I used 5/8 drywall and earthquake framed it tight, so even with it cranked up super loud, nothing rattles. The slider I have going into the back yard stays quite, and the garage door suprisingly doesnt make any noise. Thank god ha

Nice colors! I wonder if you don't need a third brighter accent color though. Not sure what it would be, maybe orange or light green?

I dig it, the darker the better. The RT Theatre does have a bit light gray accent on the trim, you are though correct in wanting your front stage dark.

I would love to get the Optoma HD33 3D Home Theater Projector, which more or less is around 1500.

And as far as screen, I cant have a fixed screen on the wall, so I have to have a motorized one. Couple hundred bucks there.

BTW wanted to let you guys know I appreciate your kind words. Was a pain in the butt doing all this stuff by myself haha so its nice to see people giving me some encouragement.

As far as a third accent color goes. I still have to eventually repaint the rest of my garage (still brown from the last time) so Ill probably do a cool accent then. I still would like to put down baseboard or some kinda trim.
