You can buy the same material at Home Depot cut them to size and re-cloth them and re-glue them thats what I did on my 1C's..

My material is good, but I have the same problem in that the original glue has dried out and the panels are loose.
Can you remember what glue you used?VTL ST50 w/mods / RCA6L6GC / TlfnknECC801S

i was curious to see if anyone replaced the fabric covered panels with wood panels....a member recently did a great job to their crs'...of course the 2b's are larger, so may not look as good...i was thinking about a black stained wood panel...all i have is my meager mind to picture it tho;)

I think John added wood panels on the sides of his 1c's just the the SRS's have. It looked really nice.

I seem to recall someone replacing the cloth side panels with wood.....looked like crap, IMO.
It's easy to remove the side panels since they are already loose, clean the old glue off both surfaces and reattach using Liquid Nails. You'll have to figure out a way to apply pressure to each panel until the glue hardens.Political Correctness'.........defined

Do one side at a time.
Right, exactly what I did. I left that open as someone else may have a different method.Political Correctness'.........defined

did you guys staple or glue the material? if you stapled, is the stapler available at home depot? i'd probably tackle these (the grilles) as well at some point...they're good now, but with the side getting freshened up, the grilles will stick out......to me

The material on my 1C's was glued on from the factory and it was not loose to begin with... at least I think the material is glued and not stapled...I'll double check that tonight. I just needed to glue the side panels back on.SDA SRS 2.3TL's

This is the main reason why I retired my SDA2s. The side panels on mine are not flat, but warped. Once they came unglued, I could not get them to stay on due to the warping. I forgot what glue I used but I did a side at a time, and put cement blocks used for a walkway in the yard on top. The warp just popped off the side panels a little later. Then the cloth came off, and I could not get it onto the panels. Finally, I said "Frack this" and bought new speakers. When I retire I might rebuild these, assuming people are still doing that 10 years from now. I think wood on the side matching the top and bottom would look pretty good, especially stained cherry.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable
