Is RT55i worth buying for $400.00 shipped ? If not, how much would you pay for thiem. I recently purchased a Dennon AVR-3803 and a CSi40 for my front channel, I know RTi70 is one of the most popular fronts in here. Any other alternatives that I can choose from to match up with my center and my receiver? What do you think of RTi100 for $430.00 shipped(brand new and sealed w/ original box)? Thanks guys

The 55 is a great speaker. Some prefer it over the 800.

Between your 2 choices mentioned, I'd take the 55's over the 100's any day. I think the price is fair on the 55's, shipping wouldn't be cheap, and they retailed for what $279 each? I can't remember.

That being said, I'd like to see you find some for $200-$250.

    Cheers,
    Russ

55 went for 480 retail, 400 when they closed out the line.

Would love to bag a pair of them some day.

The 55 also goes for nothing short of retail value on EBay. Rarely do you see one go for under 300-350.

I'll add this: The only circumstances under which I'd purchase the 800i's/i70's over the 55i's, is if my sole intention were to fulfill a home theater end, or if the price differential was staggering; which, by definition, makes the 55i the more versatile purchase, as I doubt it surrenders much in home theater applications.

To elucidate my previous paragraph ... my 55i's smoke my 800i's in two channel exercises, and it ain't even close.

    Russ is accustomed to getting GREAT deals on good product, and that's great, but if you find a pair of 55i's for $200.00 I'd be surprised; and I'd also be involved in a bidding war with you. :>}

    Two Channel Setup:

    Speakers: Wharfedale Opus 2-3
    Integrated Amp: Krell S-300i
    DAC: Arcam irDac
    Source: iMac
    Remote Control: iPad Mini

    3.2 Home Theater Setup:

    Fronts: Klipsch RP-160M
    Center: Klipsch RP-160M
    Subwoofer: SVS PB12NSD (X 2)
    AVR: Yamaha Aventage RX-A2030
    Blu Ray: Sony BDP-S790
    TV Source: DirecTV Genie
