    Ha.

The big boys don't need no dang subs.:razz:

Subs could help the mmg's for sure, but don't go too small; the whole point of a sub is to be able to get down to 20hz or below, so don't get anything that can't do that with ease or you'll just be mucking up your midbass.

Those Maggies look great John. Let us know how they sound. I have not heard a pair of MG-20.1's.

Great things come to those who seek and keep at it.

Congrats John. It's funny how you've been honeing your soldering skills over the past year and now this project comes up. Good luck getting the schematics and I'm glad some of us have very deep pockets to take another step up in this cool hobby/passion.

I know he wants to hook them up with no cross-overs. ......I would....well...maybe not.

The new shipping boxes have been ordered for them, and they should be on the way to me soon. A check of the serial numbers show them to be a matched pair of MG 20's and NOT the 20.1's. One speaker will need a replacement ribbon, but Maggie says this is an easy and in-expensive fix at just a hundred bucks for the replacement. I cannot wait to see them/hear them.

Does anybody have any expereince with the 20's or the 20.1's for sake of comparison?

I saw a pair in person not too long ago, they certainly have a presence about them.

Any luck on a schematic or FR plots?

Yes, they do at that. They put me a bit in mind of the SDA-SRS in terms of their frontal size. They certainly lay waste to the theory that there is no market for an SDA-type speaker because of size constraints. Because of positioning issues, these actually need MORE room than an SDA.

I have schematics, but was told if I am bi-amping, the internal crossover will be good for now.

no... but given that my room is only 11 feet wide, this is the best it gets. When we move into our house next spring, they will get a room of their own. Even in this confined space, they sound amazing. Properly set up they should be ten times better.:loneranger:
