I think that Kumar will end up ruling Egypt.

It's a beautiful country, too bad it will be damn near hands-off for any tourism for the next 5 years at least.

Great! Now we will have the Muslim Brotherhood running another country.
aka another country that wants us dead.
But we are going to give them taxpayer money to help them get propped up so they can tear us down.

We all should be complaining from the highest mountaintop and from the tallest building. America has been and always will be this planets last, best hope for the freedom of all mankind, and I will give my last breath to defend her. I am not certain if your post was a joke or not, but to hear Americans willing to give up(not complain) about our present course into oblivion makes me cringe.

We have had colonial tendencies in our past, but we are far from being imperial. Every time we have had the power to conquer the globe, we have instead spent our capital a,d shed our blood to rebuild our adversaries and then return sovereignty to them. Had we not done so, we could have ruled the planet for a century now, but that is not our way. We are not the" Evil Empire" here, but with the way things are going, we sure as hell are determined to help one rise.

WE are now in a situation where we need to pick a future for ourselves.
The other countries will do whatever they want. We no longer have the
money to babysit the world. Freedom for all mankind? Newflash. Not our problem.
I have no problem shedding blood for my country and our freedom,
but some of these other guys had better get some skin in the game.
We can help, but if they aren't as willing to fight and die for their freedom
then they don't derseve our help. A lot of Arab nations are fighting for their
way of life, but it isn't likely it will be the same as our way of life.
That's their call. If they want some *ssh*le in charge, then they'll have
to live with their choice. I can't pick their future any more than I can
pick a future for my kids. I can provide guidance ans assistance, but
    their destiny is their own.

Not to mention we have billions of Libya's money here, why can't we take some to cover the billion we spent already ? Like we should have done in Iraq.

One third of the new Libyian government would be considered extreme muslims. So we replaced one dictator with a bunch of them. Sounds logical.

What they are doing is replacing dictators with regional governors loyal to a Sharia dominated Caliphate, which will be centered in Tehran, under direct control of the ayatollahs that currently run the country. Just a few days ago, they told the world that they plan to elliminate teh office of "President" and replace him with a "foreign Minister" instead. This was underreported here of course, but given the current events around the globe, it is clear that they are moving swiftly to unite the Muslim world under a Sharia government loyal to it's religious theocracy. This includes the destruction of Israel, and then the Western way of life.

Make no mistake. The way we live our daily lives is under attack. The question is will we stand in time to stop it, or will we continue to follow Washington to our destruction.

Yup, if they're not hitting their women and burning effigies, then they're dragging dead bodies through the streets. But, they're a great civilization I hear. I mean how could they not be . . . so close to the fertile crescent and those other great areas of tourism where man took his first steps.

Supposedly anyway......the whole area is very tribal, just like centuries ago and it hasn't changed. Instead of swords and spears, they have guns and rocket launchers. Instead of chariots, horses, they have cars and tanks. Little in the way of modern conveniences. The mentality is the same though, like evolution came to a stand still in that part of the world. Life means little to them especially if your not one of them. I dunno, can't figure it out why a society wants to be like that but who' are we to say it's wrong.....as long as they stay there and don't harm others outside their little world. Unfortunately that doesn't happen though.

Aw, cry me a river, will ya? Like I said, it's human nature. No matter how much help/money we dump into Europe/Asia/Africa, they are going to try to topple us, to be #1. We did the same thing, are doing the same thing, and will do the same thing. Are you saying we haven't been ruling the planet for a while? Well, it's been the American way since after WWII, my friend. Euro, China, Iran and any tribe that has enough money and manpower will always try to change that, so don't yell so hard, deal with it with your action instead of your complaint. We are proud of ourselves and our history, however it doesn't mean the world should just go along with our way. That's an ignorant quest.

Very true, we have been participating in trying to shape the world in our own view of what it should be, no doubt. Propping up puppets all over only to find it bites us in the **** in the long run. Sins of the past as they say.....too bad we haven't learned our lessons. It's one thing to go around and try to form alliances, another to try and change a culture. We sure don't want anyone changing ours ......at least I hope so anyway.

Trust me, I am better than these people and what they do is wrong. How can I make this claim? Because I have a solid moral compass and sense of compassion for my fellow man. Hiding behind the idea that we are no one to judge other cultures is the same as saying what they are doing is right. A hard moral stance is the best defense and frankly your morals don't have to be that good to know these people have none.

Have I told you lately that I love you?

    Very well said.

The core here is that western values of equal justice and equal rights is an affront to muslim values of social justice and no rights. I am all for respecting the beauty and nobility of another culture, but there is nothing beautiful about repressing the human spirit. Take a look at a photo of a young girl stoned to death for holding her boyfriend's hand and tell me that is a beautiful thing.

I challenge everyone to watch the film "For Neda" and "the Stoning of Soria M". WATCH THESE FILMS and come back and tell me their values and culture is one worthy of respect. I love the Persian culture, their values and love for life. Unfortunately, it is their government and about 10% of the population that use fear and violence to supress the rest of the people. Their government is NOT their culture! Sharia Law is NOT a culture. Butchering innocents is NOT a culture. The reason these people hate us and the western world is because we have allowed the butchery to continue unchallenged for centuries. They hate us because we seem to care only for what they have and could give two $h!tS about the people. So far, they would be correct in their assessment and are justifiable suspicious of our intent when we say we want to help.

Our leaders need to live by our founding documents and principles before we can once again be a beacon of hope to the rest of the world. There was a "Persian Spring" two years ago, and we did nothing to support it. All they wanted was freedom. Egypt, and now Libya want exactly what they have in Iran today.... The Caliphate and the end of the western way(our way) of life. Our founders would be so proud.

Take a hard look at our history. We weren't and are still not saints.
There has been no shortage of killing, taking of land, and trampling of rights.
All the real progress has happened in the last century in several bouts of
    change.
We know that there are Arab extremists at work. They want to embrace
the worst of intolerance. I say it again, we should of knocked over IRAN,
not Iraq. Saddam was contained. There wasn't any ties to terrorists there.
But Iran is funding mischief all over the globe.

I'm pretty sure most of the public is fed up with fronting the bill on crap like this. These whack jobs have been at war with each other for thousands of years, if they wanna fight and annihilate each other, let 'em. Save us the effort, the money and most importantly, the lives of our soldiers. Just imagine if they put these billions back into our economy here in America. Logically, ya think we all might be a little better off instead of the s#!t we're in now.
Bravo, Add to that everyone otta work, Homeless people with no place to go,, its time we helped our own,, and get the bloated suits otta Goverment.
Not an Audiophile, just a dude who loves music, and decent gear to hear it with.

They're like wild animals in a frenzy over a dead carcass. Very disturbing.

I think Americans would have treated Bin Laden with the same zeal after 9/11/2001. This guy was their oppressor for 42 years. Barbaric, YES! Surprising, NO!

Well if you consider how we treated KSM, who was very involved in many plots against the USA including 9/11, then I believe you can only be certain we would have water boarded bin Laden and maybe even attempted to give him a trial in a civilian court with the benefit of our own Constitution. See . . . we are better, even in the face of great tragedy.

    Nevermind.

I just remembered that I do not, in fact, hold the keys to the universe.

Some of ya'll should run for President. Seriously, if I was half as assured in my beliefs about the world as half of y'all are, I'd feel I was doing my country a disservice by not running.

    I'm out.

    Cheers,

    Ben

I doubt we'll be sending any aid to Libya. I don't see the House passing it. At least, I hope not.
I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!
