There is no comparison. The XPA-3 is a fine amp but in my setup the monoblocks kill it in every which way. Same goes for any of the other Emo amps ive had, and trust me, I've had my fair share.

Disclaimer: I'm talking strictly 2ch listening here. For HT the differences weren't nearly as dramatic. And of course, like always, YMMV.

You picked up a fine amp at a great price. I'm interested how the XPA-3 compares to the XPA-1.

XPA-3 Three Channel Audio Power Amplifier
    200 watts RMS x 3 into 8 ohms | 300 watts RMS x 3 into 4 ohms

    XPA-1 Differential Reference™ Mono-block Power Amplifier
    500 watts RMS x 1 into 8ohms, 1,000 watts RMS x 1 into 4ohms.
