This is a legendary vintage pair of KEFs former flagship speaker, the KEF Reference 105s. They are in very nice shape for their age and the bass drivers have been refoamed, the grills have been recovered and the crossovers have been updated. This is an excellent sounding pair of speakers and will embarrass most high end speakers of today, for a fraction of the cost. The mid/tweeter drivers are mounted in a swiveling 'head', so you can adjust the directional energy of the top drivers independent of the bass cabinets. These are the now extremely difficult to find and very coveted Series 1 version of this speaker and was used in British recording studios to master many of the greatest albums of all time. If you are in the market for an extremely nice pair of speakers, don't miss out on these. They are hooked up and ready for an audition. I am confident one listen to these and you will be hooked as they are very smooth and musical. Not overly fatiguing like many of the high end designs of today. I have a reprint of the owners manual and many reviews. These are from a non-smoking home. Serious inquiries only please. Asking price is only $525.

One of my favorite series of vintage KEF. What does "...very nice shape for their age" mean? What are the cabinets like? Perfect....corners dinged....scratches? How are the grill pins and sockets? Are they complete?
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

These are now *SOLD*. I'm going to miss them but I just picked up a pair of KEF Reference 107s so will have the same house sound. I will also be listing my Mirage OM-7s in a separate listing.

For what it is worth now, they had a couple of scratches on them and a bottom corner was dinged. The grills were perfect and did not use pins and sockets as the front and top grill are a unified construction that slipped over the top of the speakers. These were the version 1's. The version 2s actually came in two different configurations; one with a separate top and front grill with one woofer and another version had two smaller woofers in the bass cabinet.
