Grill for Subwoofer (PSW111)

I have a new PSW111 sub, which is on the floor of course, of my rather small living room. It surrounding area is rather a high traffic one and am worried because its grill is only soft cloth.

Has anyone tried to protect the speaker with something more sturdy? or any ideas?
