I have a great sounding Adcom GDA-600 DAC. This is the second one I've owned. I sold the first and went to a dedicated CD player that I spent $600 for and realized that this sounded so much better with a good transport.

This has some light scratches and two dull rings and the faceplate has a couple very light marks but nothing major.

I had planned to upgrade this the way George did in this thread: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?97185-The-Adcom-GDA-600-modification-thread&highlight=gda600

Unfortunately I never got around to it but I will throw in a bag of parts to get you started that George sent to me.

I'm looking for $175 shipped CONUS for this. Pics to come later.

Does the bag of parts have everything you need for the basic mod?

No. I haveen't fully looked at all that was done but I am very sure that not all that you'd need is here.

The most expensive part of the modification is the OPA627 op-amps. The 627 are single channel and you need dual so you need (4) of them on an adapter.

Here is the link that George and I and others bought from.

    http://cimarrontechnology.com/single-to-dualop-ampadapterpn020302.aspx

You will need a quantity of (2) of the OPA627 @ $45 each for a total cost of $90 plus shipping. From the above link.

There may be other less costly alternatives for op-amps, but the OPA627 is about the best going for this application. You will also need some other caps, etc. If George sent Dave the same parts he sent me they are caps for the power supply and you may need a couple more. I know George had to buy a minimum amount of each cap so he was giving away the extras.

Problem is that I would have to have someone do the mod for me. Between less then zero d-i-y skills the peripheral neuropathy in both hands is getting worse...

Maybe someone will step up. I had assistance with mine because of a lot of the intricacies and the wave soldered boards are always a PITA. It's a pretty straight forward mod, but it's tedious and time consuming. I'd volunteer but I don't have the time or the confidence to do it for someone else.

    Good luck

    Thanks, Dave! (And thanks Fred!)

At some point in the future I'll be looking to do the "Fred-mod". I'm in the midst of clearing out some space in my rack for it.

Just few key part mods and this DAC is killer.

Thanks Rich and Brock. Brock, the mod-thread may have played a small role in my decision-making process.

Fred, I think Rich wants to add running hot and cold water. He's crazy like a fox.

Adding liquid cooling is certainly a novel idea but I,m not entirely sure it's necessary.Full props to Rich though for wanting to push the envelope.
