Hello Polks,
It's been a while since I played with conditional formatting, I hope u guys can help me out on this. Basically I need to automate a cell between "OR" and "ORF". If the data on the adjacent cell is above 100000 then the cell reads "ORF" otherwise excel will pick "OR". If the # are entered first then it'll automate the OR or ORF. PLEASE advice. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Edwin

Assuming column B is the numbers, and you have no column headings, here's the formula for cell A1:
=IF(B1>100000,"ORF","OR")
Then you can copy the formula down column A. -
If you saying that you want the neighboring cell to read either "OR" or "ORF," then you don't need conditional formatting, all you need is a simple if-then statement: =if(cellref>100000,"ORF","OR")

Doggie750 - there are several very good Excel forums that provide quick answers to any questions. Mrexcel is the one I use for my many Excel questions. Responses are very quick and helpfull.Parasound HCA-2003A & 2205A

The rest is TBD. -
Well, he got 2 responses in less than 20 minutes. I think this is quite fast. I know there are "better" forums out there for non-audio related questions. However, many people know eachother here and trust their response. I just got some computer hardware help in another thread. As long as it's not a newbie asking across multiple forums, I think it's OK.
