So, I installed the Solen 16 mH 10 awg inductors in my 2.3TL's without any pre-cooking. I don't have the equipment to pre-condition them. After everything was reconnected and the speakers buttoned up I began playing tunes. I heard immediate improvement: deeper more relaxed soundstage, more and maybe slightly tighter bass.
Although Darqueknight provided excellent analysis (as well as how to instructions) of this mod, I always approach tweaks to the system with a degree of skepticism. Kind of like Missouri's state motto: "Show Me"

At 111 hours (yep, I'm tracking play time
) I noticed an increased refinement, or maybe smoothness, in the tone of the speakers. It was there before, but now it seems to have increased. There's also slightly more bass ouput, and perhaps even a little more fullness to the low notes. I also hear an increase in the 3D quality the speakers have always had, but to a lesser degree; not only a slightly larger soundstage, but a better placement of instruments/vocals front to back and side to side. There's also a stronger center channel effect, with vocals firmly anchored in the center, and other instruments (sometimes drums, sometimes woodwinds or guitar) just behind the vocalist.
I'm very pleased with what I'm hearing.
